New River Epoxy Flooring installs garage, home, patio and commercial floor coatings that stay bonded through 115° afternoons, monsoon grit and decades of daily use. Real diamond-ground prep, honest pricing, and a crew that answers the phone.
New River is not a cookie-cutter suburb, and its floors are not cookie-cutter either. Homes here sit on bigger lots along the I-17 corridor, on caliche and decomposed granite, often with a detached shop, an RV garage, a tack room or a casita out back. Slabs see full sun, dust storms, and temperature swings of thirty degrees or more between dawn and mid-afternoon. A floor coating that looks great in a showroom in Scottsdale can fail in a New River garage that bakes all summer with the door open.
That is why every New River Epoxy Flooring project starts on the concrete, not the color chart. We test for moisture, map cracks and spalls, and diamond-grind the surface so the base coat can lock into the slab instead of sitting on top of it. Then we build the system around the space: a fast-curing polyaspartic flake floor for a family garage, a chemical-resistant epoxy for a working shop, a cool-touch textured finish for a patio or pool deck, or a hand-worked metallic for a living room that should feel like polished stone.
The result is a seamless floor that cleans up with a mop, hides the dust between sweeps, resists oil and antifreeze, and makes the whole room brighter. It is the most-used surface in your home or business, so it should be the one you think about the least.
100%of our floors are diamond-ground. Never acid-etched.

Coating services
Nine systems. One standard of prep.
Every floor we coat gets the same mechanical prep, crack repair and moisture check. What changes is the chemistry and finish on top, matched to how you use the space and how much sun, heat and traffic it sees. Pick a service to see how the system is built, what it costs to own, and how it holds up in the high desert.
Built for the foothills, from Daisy Mountain to the river wash.
Your floor lives in the same country as the saguaros out back: blazing summer sun, cool winter nights, wind-blown dust, and the occasional monsoon that turns a dry wash into a creek. We choose resins, cure times and textures with that landscape in mind, so the floor you love on day one is the floor you still love a decade from now.

What a New River slab has to survive
Floor coatings fail for predictable reasons, and most of them are amplified out here. Before we recommend a system, we look at five things that are specific to homes and buildings in the North Valley foothills. Getting these right is the difference between a floor that lasts and one that lifts at the tire tracks after the first summer.
Garages and shops here often work with the door up for hours. Standard epoxy yellows and chalks in direct sun, so anything that sees daylight gets a UV-stable polyaspartic or aliphatic polyurethane topcoat that holds its color.
Big daily temperature swings
A slab can move from the 60s at dawn to well over 100 by afternoon. Concrete expands and contracts with it, so we favor base coats with some flexibility, and we time installs and cure windows around the heat of the day.
Dust, grit and monsoon mud
Fine desert dust acts like sandpaper underfoot and under tires. Flake broadcasts and textured topcoats hide it between cleanings, and a thicker wear layer means grit scratches the topcoat, not the color beneath it.
Moisture from below
Slabs on grade without a good vapor barrier can push moisture up and blister a coating from underneath. We test before we quote, and when readings are high we install a moisture-mitigating primer first.
Older, hard-worked concrete
Many properties have slabs that have hosted tractors, horse trailers and years of oil drips. We degrease, grind, fill cracks and patch spalls with fast-setting repair mortar so the finished floor is smooth and fully bonded.
Choosing a chemistry
Epoxy, polyaspartic or polyurea?
Most of our floors combine more than one resin. A flexible polyurea or a deep-penetrating epoxy might form the base, with a polyaspartic topcoat for UV stability and wear. Here is how the three main chemistries compare, so the recommendation in your estimate makes sense.
Property
Epoxy
Polyaspartic
Polyurea

Why coat it
What a professional coating gives back
Bare concrete is porous, dusty and hard to clean. A properly installed coating turns it into a surface that protects itself and makes the room more useful.
01
Easy cleaning
A sealed, seamless surface does not absorb oil, coolant, pet accidents or spilled fertilizer. Most messes wipe up with a damp mop and a mild cleaner.
02
No more concrete dust
Raw concrete constantly sheds a fine powder that gets tracked into the house. A coating locks the surface down so the dust you see is only what blows in.
03
A brighter room
Light-colored and glossy floors bounce light back up, so garages and shops feel bigger and safer, and you need fewer fixtures to work comfortably.
04
Chemical and stain resistance
Brake fluid, gasoline, battery acid and pool chemicals etch or stain bare concrete. The right topcoat shrugs them off so the floor still looks new years later.
05
Safer footing
Flake textures and anti-slip aggregates give real traction, even with a little water or dust on the floor, without being rough on bare feet.
06
Added home value
A finished garage is one of the first things buyers notice on a walkthrough. A coated floor signals a well-cared-for property and photographs beautifully.
Project sequence
Seven steps from bare slab to finished floor
Every system we install follows the same sequence. The steps that happen before any color goes down are the ones that decide how long your floor lasts.
1
Site visit and moisture test
We measure the space, check slab moisture, look at cracks and old coatings, talk through how you use the room, and bring color and texture samples to see in your own light.
2
Written, line-item estimate
You get a clear proposal that lists prep, repairs, each coat in the system and the warranty, so you know exactly what you are paying for and can compare quotes fairly.
3
Diamond grinding
Planetary grinders with HEPA vacuums open the concrete to the right surface profile and remove sealers, paint and laitance. This is where a lasting bond begins.
4
Crack, joint and spall repair
We chase and fill cracks, repair pitted areas and level low spots with fast-setting polymer mortar, then grind the repairs flush so they disappear under the finish.
5
Base coat and broadcast
The primer or base coat goes down at the right thickness. For flake floors we broadcast chips to full rejection; for metallics, we work the pigments by hand.
6
Topcoat and texture
Excess flake is scraped and vacuumed, then a clear, UV-stable topcoat seals everything in. Anti-slip aggregate is added where you want more grip.
7
Walkthrough and care guide
We walk the finished floor with you, explain cure times, and leave a simple care sheet and your written warranty. Then the space is yours again.
Our standards
Promises we keep on every floor
A floor coating is only as good as the habits of the crew installing it. These are the rules we work by, whether the job is a single-car garage or a twenty-thousand-square-foot warehouse.
A
We grind every slab
No acid etching, no shortcuts. Mechanical diamond grinding is the only prep we trust to give a coating a permanent bond to the concrete.
B
We price in writing
Every estimate lists the prep, repairs, each coat and the warranty, so you can compare quotes honestly and know there are no surprises on install day.
C
We use pro-grade resins
High-solids epoxies, polyureas and polyaspartics from professional suppliers, applied at the thickness the manufacturer specifies, never thinned to stretch a kit.
D
We control the dust
Grinders run with shrouds and HEPA extractors, and we mask doorways and cabinets, so the only thing we leave behind is a finished floor.
E
We show up when we say
Install dates are confirmed in advance, crews arrive on time, and you get a text the evening before with start time and what to move out of the space.
F
We stand behind it
Every floor comes with a written warranty against peeling and delamination. If something is not right, you call us and we come back and make it right.

Questions
Straight answers about floor coatings
These are the questions we hear most often on site visits around New River. If yours is not here, call us at (623) 555-0148 and talk to the people who will actually install your floor.
How long does a garage floor coating take in New River?
Most two- and three-car garages are a one-day install with a polyaspartic or polyurea system. We grind and repair in the morning, lay the base and flake by midday, and roll the clear topcoat in the afternoon. You can walk on it that evening and park on it in about 24 to 48 hours, depending on the temperature that week. Epoxy-heavy systems and large shops take two to three days.
Will the coating peel from hot tires in the summer?
Hot-tire pickup happens when a coating sits on a slab that was only acid-etched or never opened up at all. We diamond-grind every floor to a concrete surface profile the resin can bite into, and we use base coats rated for the heat. Combined with a UV-stable topcoat, that is what keeps a garage floor bonded through a New River July.
What does a floor coating cost?
Price depends on square footage, slab condition, crack and spall repair, moisture, and the system you choose. A standard flake system in a two-car garage is the most common project we price, and metallic or commercial chemical-resistant systems cost more per square foot. We measure on site and give a written, line-item estimate so you can compare apples to apples.
Can you coat over an old epoxy or painted floor?
Usually yes, but not on top of it. Failing paint or a store-bought kit has to come off first, because a new coating is only as strong as the layer underneath it. We grind the old material away, check what is left, and then install the new system on sound concrete.
Is the floor slippery when it gets wet?
A smooth, high-gloss floor can be slick with water or dust on it. Flake broadcasts add texture, and we can mix an anti-slip aggregate into the topcoat for garages, patios, pool decks and commercial kitchens. We will show you texture samples so you can choose the balance of grip and easy cleaning.
Do you work on detached shops, RV garages and barns?
Yes. Larger properties around New River and Desert Hills often have detached shops, RV bays and tack rooms, and they are some of our favorite projects. We bring generators and dust-controlled grinders when power or access is limited, and we plan the system around how the space is actually used.
What maintenance does a coated floor need?
Very little. Sweep or use a dust mop to pick up grit, and wash with a pH-neutral cleaner and a soft mop or squeegee when it needs it. Avoid citrus and vinegar cleaners, which can dull a topcoat over time, and put a mat under kickstands and jack stands. That's all it takes for most floors.
Do you offer a warranty?
Yes. Every installation comes with a written warranty against peeling and delamination, and the terms depend on the system and the use of the space. We will walk you through exactly what is covered before you sign anything.
Where we work
Based in New River, serving the North Valley
We are close to home for customers across the foothills north of Phoenix, from the horse properties off New River Road and the Desert Hills ranch lots to Anthem, Tramonto and Cave Creek. Commercial clients along the I-17 and Carefree Highway corridors get the same crew and the same prep standards.
Being local means we know the ground. We have ground slabs poured on caliche in Desert Hills, coated barn aisles near the Agua Fria, and refinished garages in Anthem that were first coated with a peeling kit. That experience shapes every recommendation we make, and it means we are a short drive away if you ever need us after the job is done.
